Our Platinum Package
Step 1: Medical Assessment
You will be invited to meet with one of the highly qualified HealthSpans medical doctors. This can be via telehealth (if you prefer, or if you live outside Melbourne), or in person at our boutique office in Hawthorn East. At the first appointment, you will participate in a comprehensive medical evaluation, which will include a history, nutritional review, lifestyle assessment, mental health screen, risk factor analysis, physical examination, and family tree investigation (to name just a few important components!). The information provided will be used to create a unique and personalised diagnostic investigations schedule using our proprietary approach.
Step 2: Diagnostic Investigations
You will be provided with a referral for medical testing as per our proprietary suite of advanced and cutting-edge screening tests. Our recommendations for specific testing will be tailored to your personal needs and will respond to your unique healthcare issues. You may choose to add on additional tests (if eligible/indicated), including a full body MRI scan and/or detailed heart health investigations.

Analysis and Results
Step 3: Analysis & Recommendations
Depending on the nature and quantity of medical tests ordered, you may require one or more follow up reviews to analyse results and provide recommendations. At these appointments, you will receive the results of any tests performed and have your questions answered.
A comprehensive assessment report will then be generated, with recommendations for further medical investigations if required, a review by an external specialist (if a serious health issue is detected), and other aspects of your care that can be delivered through your GP. We will also make recommendations for nutritional support, mental health support, weight loss programs, and exercise / strengthening services.
Aftercare Options:
Three-, six- or twelve-monthly medical check ins.
We recommend that you undergo follow up testing and screening with your HealthSpans doctor at either a 3-, 6- or 12-monthly interval, as determined by the results of your diagnostic screens or as per your preference. If any serious diseases are detected, it may even be recommended that you see our doctors more frequently as they refer you to the right specialist.
The doctor that performed your initial comprehensive assessment may be able to work with you long-term, to provide PREVENTATIVE healthcare check-ins, at a 3-monthly interval if required. Their scope of practice will be to offer “preventative healthcare” - a type of integrative health service that provides education and strategy for optimising your sleep, stress, lifestyle, diet, exercise, nutrition, disease risk factors, and other important holistic considerations that promote your longevity and vitality. Your doctor may also ask you to see third-party experts for assistance in implementing their recommendations and/or for further assessment - possibly including nutritionists, physiotherapists, dieticians, occupational therapists, and other allied health professionals (based on the results of your comprehensive assessment).
What we don’t provide during your aftercare:
Emergency appointments or treatments.
If you (or someone who you would like to enquire about) is/are experiencing an acute, active, chronic, new, or urgent physical or mental health symptom/issue/condition, please do not contact us and do not use our services. Instead, call 000, present to hospital, or contact your current or local general medical practitioner. If you have used our services before and require emergent, urgent or other types of healthcare, call 000 now. If new symptoms have emerged (such as chest pain) you must report to an emergency care facility.
At HealthSpans, your doctor provides preventative care, rather than general healthcare.
Doctors that provide medical services through HealthSpans do not offer ongoing medical care for disease or illness (even if that was identified during the comprehensive assessment, given that they provide preventative medicine, rather than cures). Doctors provide tailored diagnostics and data about your current state of health, rather than treatment for disease, illness or physical health conditions. They refer and help you access the specialist help you need, if and when disease or illness is detected, but will not be a substitute for care delivered by a treating physician. If and where illness or disease is identified during the comprehensive assessment, naturally you would wish to be referred to the most suitable specialist who can provide the care and manage for the specific issue identified.
We work with and empower your GP, rather than become your GP.
The doctor who performs your Comprehensive Assessment will not replace or become your GP. It is essential that you have a GP, and the comprehensive report with recommendations produced by your HealthSpans assessor will include a section on work that is able to be undertaken with your GP. You will also need to seek referrals to any recommended specialists and third-party providers through your GP - as your HealthSpans assessor will not be coordinating your healthcare, so it is not appropriate for them to be your referring clinician for specialist care. Your HealthSpans doctor will not be able to create mental or other healthcare plans that provide access to Medicare rebates.
Your doctor is not available in between scheduled appointments
HealthSpans clinicians will only be available to discuss healthcare related matters during your scheduled appointments, and if you develop a new, emergency, acute, or other medical condition that requires treatment, you should contact an emergency service, call 000, or for non-urgent issues, see your GP.
Your doctor does not provide medication prescriptions or paperwork
If you require a medical prescription, medical paperwork (e.g. WorkCover forms, NDIS forms, medical certificates, or any other paperwork / medical certificates) you will need to see and discuss with your treating GP.
